What does it mean to "Go Green"?

Individuals and families these days are asking themselves what they can do to conserve resources and preserve our environment. They want to make smart decisions - choices that preserve healthy living. Going green means just that; taking environmental responsibility by making choices that are the most environmentally friendly while improving human life. This includes but far from being limited to: The food you eat, the water you drink, the clothes you wear, the car you drive, the home you live in and how you control pests.

By utilizing an IPM approach to pest management, Pestech is the choice for keeping your home and environment healthy.

What is IPM?

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is an effective and environmentally sensitive approach to pest management that relies on a combination of common-sense practices. IPM programs use current, comprehensive information on the life cycles of pests and their interaction with the environment. This information, in combination with available pest control methods, is used to manage pest damage by the most economical means, and with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment.

The IPM approach can be applied to both agricultural and non-agricultural settings, such as the home, garden, and workplace. IPM takes advantage of all appropriate pest management options.

Green "News"

Going green includes all facets of our lives including the design and construction of buildings giving careful consideration to three main elements: healthy indoor environment, maximum energy efficiency and conservative, thoughtful use of natural resources.

Who says it’s a green building? Is there a certification process?

There are several ways to denote a building’s “greenness.” In the US, and now world wide, green buildings are certified through an independent third party, the US Green Building Council’s program, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®). For more information on LEED® and the USGBC visit http://www.usgbc.org . Once you have visited the USGBC site, call Pestech® to see how we can add LEED® points to your existing building or new construction project, you'll be glad you did.
